As the golden light of dawn broke on the shores of Cape Coast today, a new chapter in the books of African alliances, cooperation, and cultural exchange unfolded as His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, and Her Majesty Olori Atuwatse III were welcomed to the Oogua kingdom by His Majesty Osabarimba Dr. Kwesi Atta II, Paramount Ruler of Cape Coast, and Her Majesty Nana Ekua Abookyi VI, the Paramount Queen Mother, amidst the regal presence of their Council of Chiefs.

It was an all cheerful affair as the people of Cape Coast welcomed the Warri Kingdom with traditional drums, songs, and dances, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of their shared African ancestry.

In his address, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III affirmed that before the division into nations, we are Africans, bound by a deeper history and a shared destiny. His Majesty’s message was a call to rise above borders drawn by others and return to a unity rooted in identity, resilience, and the enduring power of kinship across the continent.
As Cape Coast begins its Oguaa festivities, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, the Olu of Warri, joins in a spirit of fellowship, recognizing the deep historical and cultural ties between the two coastal kingdoms, and looking forward to a future of mutual prosperity.
