Today His Majesty Ògíamẹ̀ Atuwatse III CFR inaugurated ‘The Intersecting Worlds of Climate Change, The Mangrove & Art’, an art exhibition curated by Mr. Oriiz Onuwaje of Crimson Fusion Creators and featuring the artistry of Mr. John Ed DeBebs. This exhibition is aimed at raising awareness on the state of the third largest mangrove forest in the world - the mangroves of the Niger Delta.

Mangroves are the lifeblood of our coastal lands—guardians against erosion, sanctuaries for biodiversity, and pillars of our economic heritage. Yet, they stand endangered, threatened by degradation and neglect. His Majesty, in his address, reaffirmed that the preservation of our mangroves is both an environmental duty and an essential commitment to the well-being of our land, our people, and the prosperity of generations to come.

The intersection of art and conservation as displayed in this exhibition serves as a clarion call—a creative reminder that preservation is not merely a luxury but an obligation to all especially those of us who call the Niger-Delta home, to join hands in this important work of protecting our lands and preserving our shared heritage.
