The second day of the Elevate Africa Convening saw profound discussions led by seasoned panelists, experts in their various fields of endeavor. The day began with a goodwill message from His Excellency Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the executive governor of Lagos State, followed by two panel discussions. The first was on ‘Elevating African Trade and Commerce: Harnessing Digital Innovation for Trade Expansion’, highlighting the vital role of technology in driving Africa’s economic growth. The second panel discussion focused on ‘Elevating African Stories: Celebrating African Resilience and Innovation through Powerful Stories’.
Breakout sessions followed, addressing key areas: Empowering Youth as Agents of Change through community engagement, Empowering Grassroots Leadership for inclusive development, and Exploring Digital Solutions for Inclusive Trade Expansion, focusing on how innovation can bridge the gap in African trade.
The day culminated with keynote speeches from renowned entrepreneur and change maker Vusi Thembekwayo, as well as Dr. Dere Awosika MFR, OON, immediate past chairperson of Access Bank and honorary consul to the Republic of Czech, followed by an inspiring fireside chat with global artist Davido, setting a powerful tone for Africa’s future in entertainment.
As the hosts, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III CFR and Her Highness Olori Atuwatse III were gratified with the richness of the convening and, with the newly unveiled Elevate Africa Fellowship, will welcome partners and collaborators who resonate with the vision of Elevating Africa to come on board in building ‘The Africa We See.’
